FAQs

Notary FAQ – What, How & When of Mobile Notary Services

How quickly can you come to me?

In most cases, we can accommodate same-day or next-day appointments in Frisco and North Dallas. Contact us for availability.

What do I need to bring to my notary appointment?

You’ll need a valid, government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, or state ID) and the document you want notarized. Please leave the document unsigned until you meet with the notary. Depending on the type of document, we may require additional information or witnesses. Contact us ahead of time to confirm what’s needed so your appointment goes smoothly.

What if my ID is expired?

As of 2025, Texas law requires a current, government-issued photo ID for notarization. However, under Texas Government Code §406.017, a notary may accept an ID that is expired, but not more than three years past expiration. If your ID is older than three years past expiration, it cannot be used — you’ll need to provide a valid form of identification.

Can you travel to me?

Yes! We are a mobile notary serving Frisco, Plano, Prosper, and North Dallas. We can meet you at your home, office, hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation facility, coffee shop, or any agreed-upon location.

How much does it cost to hire a mobile notary?

We charge $10.00 USD per notarization (per signature) in accordance with Texas law. For mobile service, a separate convenience/travel fee applies, ranging from $35–$65 USD within Frisco, Plano, Prosper, and North Dallas. This fee is billed separately from the notarization fee and is non-refundable, as it covers the time and travel required to come to you. We’ll always provide a clear quote before your appointment so there are no surprises.

Can you notarize documents in another language?

Yes — depending on the language. The document must be complete, the signer must understand what they are signing, and the notarial certificate must be in English (or a language the notary can complete). The notary and signer also need to be able to communicate directly in a language they both understand (no translator envolved). Your ID must still meet Texas requirements (driver’s license, passport, or state ID). If your ID is not in English, we may need to review it to ensure it can be accepted.

What if I need witnesses?

Some documents require witnesses in addition to a notary. Please arrange for your own witnesses unless we’ve confirmed in advance that we can provide them.

Can you notarize immigration or international documents?

We can notarize certain forms and affidavits, provided they meet Texas notary requirements. However, we cannot advise you on which documents require notarization — please consult an attorney or the requesting agency if you’re unsure.

Do you keep copies of my documents?

No. Your documents are private. We only verify your identity, witness your signature, and apply our seal.
